The subscription economy, frankly, sucks.

We’re told repeatedly that it’s just the price of one coffee a month, but the combined cost of every single tool, service, app and game demanding one coffee a month becomes the equivalent of paying for enough caffeine to poison even the strongest constitution.

The migration from Twitter to Mastodon is a blueprint for what I hope to see in regards to parallel institutions.

Namely, capitalist structures & billionaire overlords over-colonize so much that they cannibalize themselves & the things they own, compelling people to look for alternatives.

But alternatives like this were here, ready to catch people as they happens.

Same can be true for mutual aid systems, tool libraries, community distribution networks etc, as dominant systems further crumble.

Matrix 2.0?

The progress the Matrix team and the community deliver is amazing. I'm more and more convinced that Matrix will become THE communication platform.
